So . . .GA6 and SC5 remain repub.

Okay. So what!  In the last 7yrs the dems have lost well over a thousand seats across the board and now the GOP has control of BOTH the Senate and the HoR -- and now the WH. Yet, are we even close to REAL Obamacare repeal; or tax reform?  No.  Are we closer to REAL spending cuts or a Balanced Budget?  Nuh-uh. How about the runaway costs of SocSec; any closer to any reform there?  HAH!

So, excuse me for not popping the bubbly over the GA or SC "wins".  I grade on actual legislative RESULTS - not merely on intentions.  We get enough of that w/ the bullsh*t COMMON CORE education system.

That's my not-so-humble opinion!

AM912, I appreciate Levin more and more as the days pass.

Maybe something is brewing behind the scenes and we could use the brew.

IG is not a joke although in this last report "some" of the way he chose to write the report was a bit disappointing.

This entire scandal will come to bite the democrats severely. Having been bitten they will of course not ever stop their whines.

Thanks for all the links.

I'd bet a chocolate eclair that key GOPee-ons will say "It's time to move on" as in response to the IG Report.

purty safe bet I'd say...

which, if I understand correctly, is all just deceptive theatre for the indoctrinated masses anyways. Something I read a few months back made the point that congress doesn't enforce laws - maybe can't? Lawmakers make laws the justice department enforces them? R c-critters getting in front of the camera to 'declare' it's time to move on is deception to those who think/believe that congress would be the entity officially determining whether it was indeed time to move on, to convince them it is a settled fact and hopefully/intentionally pre-empt any pressure on the justice department.

.. but what do I know?? anymore it's popular belief that determines what is fact or not. If c-critters say so on tv it must be true.   we're surrounded by bizarro world.

continuing on the surrounded by bizarro world thought...

something I read yesterday comes to mind;

People are more likely to trust and cooperate if they can tolerate ambiguity, a new …
I read the article at a little less than just scanning it speed and came away with it's point being ' to be a good employee/teammate you can't expect others to do what they say they'll do'.  Is that what it says??  if so, I present it as exhibit A for my bizarro world thoughts.

Yes exactly!

Larry, I think you have said it all "if I understand correctly, is all just deceptive theatre for the indoctrinated masses anyways." And I might add the gullible public is ripe for their pickens. I think of it as marketing types trying to sell a cheap product. All of this mess created by swamp dwellers who were being kicked out of being the baddest critters in the murky water.

I view our President as not a chair boy. I give him and his campaign team a lot of credit for reading the thermometer accurately as it measured the sentiments of a good swipe of the we the people. I believe as well that they new once elected the left and their corrupted would leave no stops in sinks to take him down.

What we the people left and right are complicit in is allowing the political class to own this entire political war games and literally avoid doing good for this Republic.

Quantum Entanglement On Demand

The researchers used an assembly line equipped with smart checks and balances that allowed them to make sure it was ready for entanglement. The result, says co-author Peter Humphreys, is a system that is a thousand times faster than the old method.

"Just like in the current internet, we always want to be online, the system has to entangle on each request," says Hanson.

On the assembly line, they were able to try and create entanglement a thousand times until they came up with the photon that spelled success. Next, they protected the entangled state from decaying by shielding it with gentle microwave pulses until delivery time, which was every tenth of a second.

Using this method, the team was able to generate 39 quantum entanglements, with decay happening only five times per second. By combining this result with an older experiment where they were able to protect the entangled state while producing a new entanglement, the researchers believe they could build a quantum network of computers with more than two connections.

"In 2020, we want to connect four cities in the Netherlands via quantum entanglement," Hanson says. "This will be the very first quantum internet in the world."

I've seen some speculation that this is expected to be the answer to insecure airborne communications. I'm guessing all kinds of star trek stuff too.     ...putting aside all the scary possibilities like AI getting control of such power once they're both developed more, it's pretty cool stuff from a data networking point of view.

Thanks Larry. Will review it later on this evening.

EPIC to House Committee: The "Digital Advertising Ecosystem" is Not Healthy

EPIC to House Committee: The "Digital Advertising Ecosystem" is Not...

EPIC has submitted a statement to the House Energy & Commerce Committee regarding today's hearing on "Understanding the Digital Advertising Ecosystem." EPIC told the Committee "The 'Digital Advertising Ecosystem' today is not healthy. Two companies dominate the market. The privacy of Internet users is under assault. The revenue model that sustained journalism is broken. The ad platforms are manipulated by foreign adversaries. Secrecy and complexity are increasing as accountability is diminished. It would be foolish to imagine that the current model is sustainable." In 2000, EPIC opposed Doubleclick's acquisition of Abacus. In 2007, EPIC told the FTC that Google's proposed acquisition of DoubleClick would lead to consumers being tracked and profiled by advertisers across the web.

Interesting indeed Larry, was worth time the time to check it out.

Is it too good to be true is my first question.

What would governments do if they couldn't spy on their citizens, businesses, foreign countries, or enemies?

I would imagine governments would still have their back door spying keys already programed into their new quantum program.

How many jobs would be lost because advertisers, businesses and political partys could not profile, or track people.

What happens to the study on algorithms?

I think we are going to have to read the fine print on the unhackable quantum network.

This is what I found in my search ....

BT announces “unhackable” quantum-secured network

Excerpt ...

The announcement comes amid growing concern that huge investments in quantum computing by countries such as China and Russia, as well as US companies like Google and Microsoft, will make quantum computers a reality in the next five to 10 years, and these systems would be capable of cracking most encryption systems in use today.

EPSRC publishes results of public dialogue on Quantum Technologies

The results of a public dialogue on Quantum Technologies, commissioned by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), have been published today Wednesday 13 June 2018.

The exercise was carried out in late 2017 by Kantar Media in order to better understand how the public views and feels about the Quantum Technologies (QTs) currently being developed by researchers and their potential applications. Evaluation of the public dialogue and the public dialogue process was carried out by 3KQ. The evaluation report will also be available from EPSRC in due course.

The main aims of the public dialogue were:  Read more ...

That is interesting "stuff" I think it could use some down to earth language to explain to the common sense readers the "value" and the "what's up".

I do agree throw in AI and this entanglements would be a  powerful thing to behold. With that said at this point it could become a WMD in the cyberworld. A WMD in all cyberworld just a step ahead at this point of bad actors.
