So . . .GA6 and SC5 remain repub.

Okay. So what!  In the last 7yrs the dems have lost well over a thousand seats across the board and now the GOP has control of BOTH the Senate and the HoR -- and now the WH. Yet, are we even close to REAL Obamacare repeal; or tax reform?  No.  Are we closer to REAL spending cuts or a Balanced Budget?  Nuh-uh. How about the runaway costs of SocSec; any closer to any reform there?  HAH!

So, excuse me for not popping the bubbly over the GA or SC "wins".  I grade on actual legislative RESULTS - not merely on intentions.  We get enough of that w/ the bullsh*t COMMON CORE education system.

That's my not-so-humble opinion!

Saw the slap down. Acosta was goating Trump to do it.

I feel for Jeff Sessions because he was a good Senator. The question if he needed to recuse himself I do not think he needed to others on the right think otherwise.

Having a reset at DOJ is a good plan. No surprise his removal was swift.

I'm not surprised by it either Pat.  He was doing a few good things but I was very disappointed over the recusal and virtually nothing done about Obama, Holder, Hillary and Co.

To answer you a few days ago..................I'm still around reading and trying to keep up with what's going on.  I just have slowed down a whole lot in activities.  Not by choice but by necessity.

Norma, I can relate to attempts to reduce ones activity. My poor state of my neurological condition is forcing my reduction. I am amazed just how much I can do just from my little perch at home using my laptop keyboard and I am grateful for that.

Good, very good, to hear from you.

Pat, We are ar amazed at what you have accomplished given your illness.  Makes a lot of other people look so lazy for not doing anything when they could.

walwell said, “Whitaker was hired to be a hitman to take out the Mueller probe. It’s clear. He fired the guy that recused himself from the probe to put in someone who has already prejudged the investigation. … And so, we have a number of options. One, we’re going to have a funding the government vote coming up here in a couple weeks, and we’re going to insist that we protect the Mueller probe.”

Anchor Wolf Blitzer then asked Swalwell how Democrats will do that.

Swalwell answered, “Well, you know, the Republicans have been unable for the last two years to fund the government with their own votes. They run government, of course. They have the House. They have the Senate. They have the White House. But they can’t sort out themselves, so they’ve had to rely on Democratic votes. They’re not going to get Democratic votes if they’re not going to be willing to make sure that we protect the Mueller probe.”

Oohh, puhlease sir - please don't throw me into that briar patch.

BUSH COUNTRY, TX

Barack Insane Obama received much applause. . .from republicans, mind you. . .during the gala held by the James Baker Institute at Rice University.

Once again Obama took full credit for our now thriving economy and our still growing energy production.  "That was me!", he said.  That from the very one that all but regulated coal mining and drilling out of existence. "People's light bill would necessarily sky rocket", he said. And lets not forget how he tied up the pipeline project from going forward during his entire eight years.

Yet, the Bush-repubs that were invited to that exclusive event not only DIDN'T challenge Obama's claims - they applauded it. I wonder how many of those Bush/McCain/Flake-GOPers that remain in the House would/will side w/ any moves by the coming demcrat/socialist majority in their attempts to impeach the POTUS.  One thing's for sure, NOTHING is gonna get done during these last weeks of the GOP majority.

That's my assessment.

I did that

So, GHWB has met his maker. The R party throne is empty now. The manipulation games to fill it will likely ramp up to absurdity, unless they let Junior ascend by birthright. Given their intense intent of cononating !JEB! as POTUS nominee last cycle they obviously believe in that birthright stuff. But Romney really really wanted that throne and probably thinks he has re-established himself as in play for it. It wouldn't be surprising at all if the party embraced either of those two losers for the throne, it's perfectly within it's style.

Larry, I do believe that the republicans will embrace anti-Trump candidates. The McCainite McFlake may run but will as usual make a complete fool of himself. Romney may get the nod and suspect he would try again. Ben S. another possibility to throw his ring into the circus.

I swear that I am fed up with the republicans who have a purple halo above their heads.

Pat

I like your purple halo phrase.

otherwise - sometimes i do try to not badger my points home, usually by not commenting at all.  ;' /

Glad you like it Larry. Dirty politics laced with vendettas infested in the local where I live and after much work I realized that the purples running for a couple of offices had received backing and infusion of $$s from a left leaning action PAC. The democrats are trying to turn my county and they chip chip away. The halo wearing purple glowing leaders here some greedy take $$s from the left leaning action PACs to get elected and now are in their talons. Its an ugly thing to behold.

During the primary these RINOs tried by taking from the lefts political war game tools of politically correctness and identity politics to damage a conservative candidate. It did not work and he prevailed in the primary beating one of their candidates and the win was impressive. They tried it again in the general and the result was even more impressive for the conservative.

They have recently tried again. It too will fail. When they do this they fail to see just how foolish they are. What they fail to understand is just how out of touch they are with voters. Good people in my district recognize PC and identity politics and so far are adverse to it.

I came up with the halo glowing purple as I wrote letters to the editor and as well contacted some of the culprits engaged in shenanigans. I and two others made an effort to call for resignations of some of those sitting of the board of our county party. We had no illusion that they would resign but our work let them know that  their acting in the theatics was not appreciated and well I do think what we 3 did embarrassed them and hopefully i January the PCs will thin twice about who they cast a vote for executive committee members.

FRANCE 2018: The Climate Change Gas Tax

It was reported that the massive riots triggered by the new gas tax have not been seen since May of 1968.  A gallon of gas in the EU has reached over $7; and thanks to global-progress -- it continues to climb.

It's been said that the riots in '68 changed the culture. Today it is apparent that France's millennials doesn't really know what they want. They are extremely for the Paris Accord - until it reaches into their pockets. The EU culture is leaning either communist or fascist. And since their "education" system...like ours here in the US...had fundamentally transformed into a global-progressive indctrnation system they haven't learned about the consequences of socialism and facsism. The 21st century  of the EU culture is operly inviting Islamic / Sharia theocracy into Europe.  Because of their miseducation they don't understand the very neaning of totalitarianism.  So I seriously doubt that the youth even connect the ramifications of the Paris global warming (aka Climate Change) Accord -- dispite Fracne's gas tax.

Btw, the French prez has decided to DELAY the Climate Change tax -- for six months.  And this is what the UN/EU wants the US to get into?!  U guaran-damned-tee ya that...although the Paris Accord is "non-binding"...the US will be FORCED to pay the lion's share of it. Meaning the American TAXPAYER.

I fear that a cultural riot or civil war is brewing in America. That it will be more destructive than OWS, BLM, Antifa at Berkeley and what is happening at the Tijuana border combined. The questionis not "if" but when.

Luis.

Luis

it is sadly predictable that the progressives will violently revolt when their agenda's consequences affect them directly. that predictability pretty well guarantees violence just by giving their delusional agendas hope and momentum. They fought their asses off to implement those carbon taxes, it just wasn't suppose to be them paying it - it was meant to be us villains living in reality. Carbon taxes to save the planet, but only tax the deplorables in America - not us fine outstanding progressive globalists.

- just wondering, what's your take on the Ybor City tunnels?
