So . . .GA6 and SC5 remain repub.

Okay. So what!  In the last 7yrs the dems have lost well over a thousand seats across the board and now the GOP has control of BOTH the Senate and the HoR -- and now the WH. Yet, are we even close to REAL Obamacare repeal; or tax reform?  No.  Are we closer to REAL spending cuts or a Balanced Budget?  Nuh-uh. How about the runaway costs of SocSec; any closer to any reform there?  HAH!

So, excuse me for not popping the bubbly over the GA or SC "wins".  I grade on actual legislative RESULTS - not merely on intentions.  We get enough of that w/ the bullsh*t COMMON CORE education system.

That's my not-so-humble opinion!

Yep your spot on Luis illegal immigration bad all around. The liberal republicans let the country down. Guess they were sold on the NAU.

Always glad when you tell it like it is.

When I walked into a drug store I would hear, "security to the front". Since I was the only person there I looked around me to see who they were calling security for and realized I was the only customer in the store. Being naïve at the time I thought they were calling security to watch me in case I stole something. This was until I realized after hearing this message for months that it was a scare tactic for those who did steal. I guess it didn't work because it stopped after some time. I guess it really didn't deter the thieves but did scare the honest customers off.

I went to the ER and felt I was being treated as if I was a drug addict. That is until they did a scan and found I really was in pain. If I'm going to die I hope I die on my property doing what I like to do rather than go to a hospital. It may sound morbid but I worked in a hospital and I told those who would listen, "if you find me dying in the gutter, just leave me there".

My point is, we see everything from our point of view as if it is person to person. Theft in stores and drug addicts are beyond our comprehension. We do not deal with thieves and drug addicts on a daily basis. The same is true on the streets where police deal with everything from domestic abuse to murders. I cannot even imagine what goes on in the Halls of Power. Just when I think I know a small bit I get bombarded with daily garbage from the media.

The World has changed with great speed over the past Century in ways we never expected. I don't believe Obamacare will ever be repealed. I never expected it would. Now that the Socialist Dems are in charge of The House I don't see much getting done at all unless the Republicans become submissive in the Senate. I do know the Socialist Dems will also try and steal the Senate like they did the House. Then in 2024 they want the Presidency. Obamacare is last on my list at this time.

Christine, Yes they will try and "steal" the senate and increase their numbers in the House. I am going to choose to be an optimist and say I think they will fail. But I do know enough about the dems that at one point soon they will switch gears and try to paint themselves as moderates. Many dems did that in 2018 and I hope that those who voted for U.S. House reps take a look see and surely they would find they were lied to.

I'm glad you mentioned 2024 for they will be geared up to win the Presidency. I feel at the moment there will be a Pence/Haley ticket. I would vote for and support that ticket with the same intensity as Trump/Pence. I suspect if the repubs would take back the House in 2020 and increase their majority in the senate the changes the President wants on immigration laws would have a good chance of passing. Infastrue may get started. What will the economy look like then? Don't have a clue but with world events going towards a breakout of a wwiii global companies now located in China will be heading home. People needed for war time efforts.

The USA needs merit based peoples -- bring them in.

The GOP has no intention - never did, of supporting Trump or repealing Ocare. The only difference between them and the DNC, is that they, for the most part, are`nt openly communist. Kibbe said it best years ago,  " Like Ronald Reagan in 1976, today we may have to beat the republicans before we can beat the democrats"

Sadly I think Christine, Patricia and of course Luis and others are right on! I never believed obummercare  would work, and once in place- I never thought we could rid ourselves of it

staznbarz, I love the quote!! Thanks

Check it out- oldie but a goodie!

Hello, starz

Not only do I agree w/ ya, I appreciate your mention of Mat Kibbe.

Soooo many GOP-fanz say "You gotta vote repub!" And, "You must! It's the only way to change things back"....blah...blah...blah...  I've been hearing that...even on supposed "conservative" sites for over a DECADE!  We HAD both houses and the WH...yet NOTHING!

But, unlike w/ the Bushes, I don't blame President Trump for what HASN'T been done. I blame the fruggin DC/GOPers!

Hi Luis, I`ve been fortunate to spend a fair amount of time with Matt & Terry since `09, they, along with AB and Tucker taught me a lot about what actually has an impact on policy and politicians, how to understand what motivates people to read more than the headline. If we don`t get congress under control with Trump, we probably never will, we have allowed them to gather too much power, combined with control of education.

"If we don`t get congress under control with Trump, we probably never will,"

I'll remind you that dems aren't the only ones that dispise DT. Quite a few repubs that can't stand him either - including Romney, Kasich, the Bushes and a host of other DC "royalty" from the WSJ etc.

As for the Mueller report, imo, the dem/media machine are going donkey-crazy.  They'll play the "obstruction" card w/ as much rabid anger as they did their completely DEAD "collusion" game. Perhaps moreso.  But that hotair balloon won't fly very high. But it's all they have left.  I hope the many many dem candidates will play-it-up as well. :)

Btw, don't forget that $$$$ is the llifeforce that runs / controls the DC/GOPers. Who has it?  The lobbyists. They write the laws.

'get congress under control' ??

it's a pipe dream based on wishful thinking (which is one significant reason of many reasons for a limited government) ...

i liken the task of cleaning up the political realm with deciding to convert the souls of the stripper club realm's inhabitants and assigning 10 pure in belief and intent preachers to each club in town. Sending them in daily to convert souls.

How many stripper club souls will be converted vs. how many preachers will be converted?   :~}

.... some realms are just not gonna be realms of good behavior no matter what you do. You're better off to just adamantly avoid letting them have unnecessary influence <--(currently laws regulating every aspect of life) on your life.

The vastly dominating culture of politics is for people with low life characters, by nature. Expecting that culture to rule over every aspect of our lives with integrity is an unachievable fantasy... a YUUuuugely good reason for a limited government and a self sufficient culture.

Larry, I agree with your statement 'YUUuuugely good reason for a limited government and a self sufficient culture."

I am of the mind we are left to choose to change the calculous or accept the reality that exists. I can't accept today's Congress and thus left with the option to give it my best to change what is happening nationally, my state and local gov't.

You do it one seat at a time, Lee, Cruz, Amash, Meadows are a few examples. You do it not by trying to "convert" your sen. or rep. that simply ignore individuals and their input, you do it by posting short, to the point questions to them on their social media pages - not for their consumption, but for the other constituents that are also commenting/reading the thread,  if those folks are engaged and you give them a starting point, you now are not alone in asking the question, or providing factual info.

starznbarz, Yes indeed a good idea. I am a commenter. I attend many forums where the campaigner speaks and in off election years, I prepare questions in advance along with others to get their answers on record. I also make eye to eye contact with the speaker. It all helps but still there is no guarantee.

I use an online system that allows me to vote up or down on a state legislative bill. Some good patriots I know request to speak at a hearing. I also write to committee members as the bill advances. Last thing is firing off to the governor.

Still no guarantee that with this effort that we get the result we seek.

Gotta try.
