The press release makes no mention of 'what' the former Sheriff was convicted. For the record, pardoned former Sheriff Joe Arpaio from his criminal contempt conviction, removing the only legal consequences the lawman faced stemming from a 10-year-old racial-profiling suit.
The White House announced the pardon in a news release Friday evening.
Arpaio, 85, was convicted of criminal contempt on July 31, and was scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 5. He faced up to six months in jail.
Trump and Arpaio have enjoyed a cozy relationship since the early days of Trump’s campaign. The two share a hardline stance on immigration, and Arpaio was one of the earliest public figures to offer Trump his full-throated endorsement.
I can hear what's going to echoed from the left on this. A six month sentence would've been nothing. They'll accuse Trump of conspiring with extremists once again. *sigh* Your thoughts???

Suffice to say that the Judge in this case is a leftist appointee and shows it in her numerous other leftist adjudications. Sheriff Joe was doing his job as usual and this case should never have made it to court in the first place.
It should be no surprise to anyone as to the response of the Lamestream Media. I usually ignore them, unless their remarks are amusing and worthy of a bookmark under "Ignorant Rantings".
I've got friends in Mesa who wouldn't agree with the "job as usual" point. They feel he belongs behind bars and deserves to serve time for what he did. They did not approve of the games he played with hispanics (and one of these a guy who has served in two U.S. wars). He still called it 'wrong'.
Are you kidding?
I live in AZ Kos. Use to reside in Apache Junction next door to Mesa. I am of the camp who loved and supported this good Sheriff.
I attended a Trump rally here in Prescott Valley when Sheriff Joe and Governor Jan Brewer entered the event center the crowd went wild (good wild).
I was sitting in the bleacher seats overlooking the event floor. As the good Sheriff was making his way to the front he recognized a young man in the seat next to me. Sheriff Joe came over to greet the young fellow and ask how he was doing. The young man responded by saying Sheriff Joe I figured you would be here and I want to thank you for all you did for me. I was fortunate to have landed in your jail. With your support I have turned my life around and with tears in the young mans eyes one last thank you to the Sheriff. Sheriff Joe's eyes were wet as he moved on.
No Kos this fine and good Sheriff deserving of a pardon from the President for enforcing the rule of law.
Pat I don't live there so I have no opinion on the guy. Just threw out there one from a stock trader as we discussed it this week. The way he felt, the Sheriffs tactics made driving down the road difficult if you had a 'dark tan' and if you were American, you better have proof on you at any time. Obviously opinions will vary. He's definitely got supporters.
To my limited knowledge all vehicle stops were for legitimate reasons ranging from drunken driving to not using a seat belt, broken tail light, drinking coffee while driving, crossing the yellow line, etc.
If the stop was for an illegitimate reason then that should have been brought to the attention of the local Prosecuting Attorney, by the defendant's attorney, at the time of the Hearing.
The facts are anyone can be stopped anytime if a law enforcement officer "perceives" you are not paying attention to your surroundings - - - that's most all of us some of the time.
Sheriff Joe simply enforced the law but that went against the "rules" of obamba's Regime.
My brother, near Kingman, felt safe while Sheriff Joe was arresting illegal aliens and "enabling" some to wear Pink Jump Suits, like the ones "the witch" and many of her Coven should be sporting, soon . . . . though hers will be Orange.
OH YES it certainly will....
The problem most Hispanic people in the newspaper, TV world, have is that illegals caught were sent to jail and (gasp!) they were humiliated by Sheriff Joe by making them wear PINK PAJAMAS and shirtless, in the middle of Arizona's heat, no less. They never discuss the way that Mexico deals with prisoners because revealing this would demonstrate a violation of human rights, that's if they survive the barbaric life.
Absolutely right...I loved it when he did that...smart guy so of course they want to get rid of him...........
Is the 4th Amendment ONLY for US citizens or for everyone in this world? Since when are prisoners protected under the 4th, after they're in jail?
.....Fourth Amendment, amendment (1791) to the Constitution of the United States, part of the Bill of Rights, that forbids unreasonable searches and seizures of individuals and property.
