Hello everyone, Suzie wanted me to pass along that all went well today with the procedure to shock Will's heart. She thanks all for their prayers.

Suzie also wanted me to pass along that she will pick a winner of the caption contest Wednesday night. I take it that the contest is not over so posting one tomorrow seems fair.

Encouragement from C.S. Lewis   (no relation)

He who converts his neighbour has performed the most practical Christian-political act of all. — C.S. LEWIS

Comment by R.C. "Bob" Lewis on August 31, 2015 at 12:16pm

Hello Prayer Circle friends,

Looking this morning for a prayer that was uplifting. (one of those days, I just wanted to hear about God's greatness)

2 Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.

3 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

4 You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell.

11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

Psalm 5

Taking The Strain Out Of Life

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee…"
—Isaiah 26:3, KJV

Many people run themselves into the ground because of stress, strain, worry, and anxiety. I suppose a proper epitaph for most people in America today would be “Hurried, worried, buried.”
Did I just write your biography?

Is the frantic pace of modern life robbing you of your peace today? If so, slow down and refocus on the Lord. Realize that He’s with you, and He’s in control no matter what comes your way. Stay your mind on Him, and let Him grant you His peace.

I found some solace in this:

Father,

Please bless our souls. For the worth of souls is great. We thank Thee Lord for finding value in what the world would find lost and broken. Yet I know that Thou has all power to lift a broken spirit and renew a weary traveler...

Help us to stay near to Thee, oh God, for it is expedient unto our souls to cling unto the Father and the Son, wherein we can find solace and a place of rest, and food unto our souls, sustenance which does not perish, but renews and expands, heals and grows, teaches and expounds...

We thank Thee Lord for all that we are blessed to receive this day.

In the name of Jesus Christ,

Amen.

A Prayer need; My Wife & I, our son Robert, his Wife {Jinny} and two teenage boys are safe and well.

Here is the other shoe: Monday evening we rode out a tornado, to sum it up six trees down, one across the back of the house, one across my PU (it is drivable) one on an SUV (not driven daily) two trees down next to our rv trailer (only scratches) from limbs. We have had lots of help from relatives & neighbors, tarps over the back of the house keeps it liveable.

Just keep us in prayer.

Thnx.

Yours in Faith

PS: we still have neighbors just down the road w/o power!

Our hearts are heavy today. The services for our son-in-law, Wilfredo's mother Elena is today.Even after 35 + years in ministry I am without words. Maybe because I know that mere words seem so hollow in the face of great grief.Maybe with the Prayer of others the Lord will send the comfort of Matt. 5:4    rcl

Oh, How Great the Needs!

Both near and far.

This need overwhelms me:

Christians who refuse to convert to Islam or pay a special tax (jizya) and acknowledge their subjugation to Muslims are being beheaded, crucified, shot, and burned alive. Female Christians are being raped, forced to convert to Islam, and placed into slavery. Christian Churches are being burned to the ground.
With growing frequency we are seeing the persecution and mass murder of Christians in Africa and the Middle East by radical Muslims, in particular, ISIS and Boko Haram, who are aligned. http://aclj.org/…/systematic-killing-of-christians-continues

Paul said to the Thessalonians; "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thess 5:17)

Yours in Faith,

CRUCIFIED ! ! !

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” I Timothy 2:1-2

Prayer Begins With…The Holy Spirit

Rather than rushing into God’s presence and saying many things, it is good to quiet your mind and wait in God’s presence so you can feel God’s heart and pray the things that the Holy Spirit shows you to pray for (Habakkuk 2:1). God promises to renew the strength of those who wait patiently on Him (Isaiah 40:31; Psalm 27:14). Through this you express to God in a practical way “not my will but Yours be done.” If you are always talking in prayer, you will not be able to hear what God is saying.

Jesus said that the Holy Spirit “will guide you into all the truth” (John 16:13), and He will guide you into an understanding of how to pray. Jude instructs us to “pray in the Holy Spirit “ (v. 20), which means the Spirit of God is “guiding” how we pray and what we pray for. We confess that without the help of the Spirit we cannot pray as we should. The apostle Paul tells us to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” (Ephesians 6:18). The Holy Spirit will lead you in the kind of prayer you offer to God. He is the one who motivates and enables and energizes your prayer.

And if you cannot find the right words to pray, know that the Holy Spirit will gladly assist you. “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express” (Romans 8:26). God sees the longing, the groaning, the desiring, the crying of your heart. He understands without the words. We utterly trust God for His help by the Spirit as we pray, and we consciously depend on His divine working.

A Prayer for America

Mar 2015

Almighty God, we pause to reflect on Your character as we seek wisdom for such a time as this.

 .  In these unsafe days,

You remain all-powerful and able to protect;

 .  In these uncertain times,

You remain all-knowing, leading us aright;

.  In the unprecedented events we’re facing,

You remain absolutely sovereign.

Our times are in Your hands.

Therefore, our dependence on You, is total, not partial. . .  our need for Your forgiveness is constant. . .  our gratitude for Your grace is profound. . .  our love for You is deep.

We ask that You guard and guide our President and all who serve the people of these United States.

May uncompromising integrity mark their lives.

We also ask that You unite us as truly “one nation, under God.”

May genuine humility return to our ranks.

And may that blend of integrity and humility heal our land.

In our Lord’s name we pray,

Amen.
