All that is necessary for the triumph of evil
By Hugh Akston
Edmund Burke said all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
Today we are standing at a crossroads a time of decision is upon us. What is the future for us?
That depends entirely upon you. What course you choose will depend on your ideals and goals; you must choose your direction. Me? I look to the future with joy and happiness, not because of the state of the American Union, but because of the state of the union between God and myself.
This I know; God has a plan, God is perfect, in the end God wins. I have the free will to choose to follow God or my selfish desires; I have the freedom to choose right and wrong; with God, I have the power to fight against evil in all its aspects.
That is what is facing us today, a choice between good and evil.
Our society is not guaranteed to exist; we can only follow and trust in God, trust and obey. This is my solace in times of trouble, my faith in god.
I will continue to fight the good fight and stand against the forces of evil as He directs me.
You can ask; How do I know what the will of God is? How can I be sure of what I oppose is evil? If God is in charge and all things are for his good purpose, how do I know that my opposition is not opposition to God?
The answer is in his word. For God never changes, He is the same today and tomorrow as he was in the past. The Bible defines Good and Evil, it tells of God’s plan for mankind, it tells what God wants from man, and what his purpose is. I can rest assured that what He tells me in his word is the same today, tomorrow and yesterday; Evil is Evil and never is it Good. By constant prayer and study of God’s word I can be assured of what I am doing is right and consistent with the will of God. So I must put on the whole Armor of God, to give me the principle of moral character to stand upright, the knowledge of good and evil, the strength to withstand the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
The Battle is God’s but we must take to the Field. I leave you with one last thought.
Esther 4:13-14 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, [then] shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for [such] a time as this?
Just my thoughts for today
