During the course of this series, we have touched upon the past, present and the future of the US Military. From mandatory Military Service (Draft), to an all-volunteer US Military (VOLAR),  to include a few of the “Social Justice” PC practices.  We have also introduced the Department of Defense (DoD) Industrial  “Life Cycle Management”,  The Monsters Fraud, Waste and Procurement Abuse.   Further, the present Reduction In Force (RIF) and the “The Army of 2020”.  That is only seven (7) years away.  We must return to Our US Constitution, sound “Life Cycle Management” and historically proven Military concepts.

This we shall defend

As a Nation, there is no consensus as to who, what or when our Military shall defend.  Our Nation no longer has neither a personal identification nor more than “Lip  Service”,  support for  their Military, however,  the US Public feel no obligation to personally serve in the defense of their Country.  The prevailing political opinion is to cut to the lowest amount possible, the Military Budget, the personnel related expenses, not the “Pork” to wit voters and politicians are addicted. 

The dictionary definition, of the word  Propaganda, “biased or misleading publicity intended to make people believe something” ,  in working application  with the late Chairman Mao’s  theory,  “ The Big Lie”,   best describes the Social Democratic Party and our President concerning our Military Personnel.

We in the Military Family are told in the media that President Obama & Co. are proud of the Military and will care for us.  The American public are told this repeatedly 24/7.  While the “Photo Ops” play, over and over, we are being “Had”, like a cheap “Lady of The Evening”.  This is across the board, Active Duty, Vets, DAV’s, Retired and dependent Family Members.  Active Duty Combat and Direct Combat Support Troops have been in a RIF in a Combat Zone, where along with suicidal “Rules of Engagement”, are placed with infiltrated Local National Troops, who murder them at will.  The Active Duty Combat Troops must be reinforced with State National Guard Units and multiple repeated combat tours, to maintain a substandard Combat Force.  These abuses of our Troops lead to KIA’s, DAV’s and destroy families.  

I do not care who you are, continued multiple Combat tours, during a short period of time will limit your abilities, to stay alive.  To thank them, their pay will be reduced, education assistance eliminated, future Retirement packages pillaged etc.   In the last four (4) years, the VA has become an abusive “Sewer” of the Disabled Vet.  It now takes on average of over two (2) years to give initial disability evaluation, with a disgraceful error rate. In addition, final appeal determination is now running over a year. There are exceptions, which are few, and far between.  What does the disabled Vet and his family do, between being discharged by military as soon as possible, to save military medical manpower and the VA “Helping” them?  To the best of my memory, the Vet and his family, for the first time in our history, “Beg”, for money in the media.  The “Baby Boomer” Viet Nam Agent Orange disabled Vets, have a war with the VA, all to their own.  It appears that in some cases, the VA’s plan is to delay long enough and let the problem “die”.  A major cause of the problem is that, A VA employee is like a dud rocket, they don’t work and you sure, can’t fire them.   That is an old joke that never was funny.  When you consider the fact that the Retirement health benefits have been reduced and will be reduced further, the joke is less funny.    The dismal assistance,  to Military Dependent families, is no joke.


When was the last time you saw, in the media, that the DoJ, took a major Defense Contractor to Federal Criminal Court?   Over the years, continuous Cases have been investigated, large cash settlements made, and our National addiction continues.

REH:   One remedy which comes to mind is that before the whacko politicians go off getting the US involved in another war it should be first funded...Lets see how many citizens are willing to pay a war tax up front...that tax would necessarily cover veteran's additional health care...  When a friend and fellow vet a few years ago suggested Reno VA hosp after hearing me complain about the way Washoe Med treated my son's broken hip I went to enquire... was accepted and  ranked a seven in priority level with vets who had incurred wartime injuries being assigned priorities at higher levels..that was about seven years ago and the hospital had just expanded capacity due to the efforts of Jim Gibbons and G Bush Jr..I was just asked if I had been on Vietnam soil, whether I was exposed to agent orange and whether I had PTSD... I asked in return whether there were tests to determine sickness by the last two.. NO reply..  Many vets of course do not know whether they were exposed to agent orange and determining the actual cause of an illness is very difficult... All vets know the stresses of war as getting shot at is stressful to say the least...Just going up the Saigon River on a cargo ship and having a dud morter shell land on deck  caused a lot of stress as we knew that flack jackets would not have been enough protection for us if that thing had gone down the stack and into the boiler...We on the bridge shouted where is that helicopter gun-shop???Lo and behold, one appeared and three of Charlies best ate lunch.  They ran but no place to hide... I support Paralyzed Vets now for many years as I believe they have a low overhead...Anyone confined to a wheel chair for the rest of his or her life deserves all the help we can give them...I suspect there are some vets who go to the VA hospital without a serious malady and since VA is very hard pressed to help all wartime injured, perhaps they should disqualify us healthy vets in order to better serve those with wartime injuries..just a thought..

Robert, I think I know what you are saying -- that Disabled Vet groups make lots of money from donations, but it's a scam because they use it mostly for overhead.  Well, I'm not really talking about helping them economically, but we can help them by speaking up for them and their rights.

Philbmena:  The American public will do all they can for the military as long as it only cost  a FEW bucks. Forget it,  when it  means  personal involvement. The reason some of these "Disabled Vet groups " are making  a  mint.  Check their financials for over head, before you give.  These groups are instant get over guilt and bragging rights. Which I guess is OK.

REH;   I can only speak for myself and some friends who go to the VA hospital in Reno, NV for their annual healthy vet exam after having served one in Korea and several in Vietnam...There were no complaints..I have medicare and an excellent supplemental, so will probably just from now  on go to the private clinic for my exam and leave my VA space for someone who does not have insurance...There always is a big crowd there....I notice the parking lots full everytime I am in that neighborhood.  Some great world leaders at the time called the Iraq invasion and occupation unjust...Not for me to say, but it was certainly underfunded, and the taxpayer is getting the bill in different forms...It would certainly help if our govt had clearly stated goals in Iraq and Afghanistan...

The way our military men and women and their families are being treated is absolutely outrageous.  True patriotic Americans should be protesting this terrible treatment of the military by our tyrannical government.  We, the People, need to get together and help our military just like in the days of the Revolutionary War, George Washington had to turn to the common people for help in fighting the war against great odds.  If our government won't do it, we, the people must stand up for our military.
