Guns Don't Kill People- People Kill People

Guns Don't Kill People- People Kill People

by Susan Nielsen

As a dark cloud full of the tears of Hundreds of Parents who have lost their Children hovers over America, no one can imagine their pain. All we can do is pray for them, pray that God gives them comfort. But, is that ALL that can be done?

Let's reword that and call it what it is. Their children were brutally murdered, by automatic weapons, hand guns, knifes and by human hands, etc...and our Prayers will not bring back those dead children.

I have always supported our 2nd amendment. But today as we morn the loss of 17 more dead children, I have to ask myself some serious questions.

Why do people own automatic and or/semi-auto weapons? First let's define "automatic weapons".

"An automatic firearm continuously fires rounds as long as the trigger is pressed or held and there is ammunition in the magazine/chamber. In contrast, a semi-automatic firearm fires one round with each individual trigger-pull. ... Firearms are further defined by the type of firearm action used."

So in my opinion, people who own automatic weapons- want to shoot lots of things- without re-loading.

These latest killings will inevitable open more discussions, regarding our 2nd Amendment rights. This is a very complicated dialog.

As a conservative activist, I must stand on the side of our Constitution, Our 2nd Amendment which reads:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. On December 15, 1791, the Bill of Rights (the first ten amendments to the Constitution) was adopted, having been ratified by three-fourths of the states.

The 2nd Amendment is the reason for the 3rd Amendment- which in simple terms means

The Third Amendment, or Amendment III of the United States Constitution is the section of the Bill of Rights that prohibits soldiers from temporarily residing in private homes during peace time without getting the permission and consent of the owner.

While I Agree 100% with our Constitution. I agree 100% with Americans Right to Bear Arms. However, I no longer agree that we need a right to have semi and or fully automatic weapons.

In the coming weeks this discussion will become the focus of all mainstream news- they will parade people across their stage with sad sad stories that will melt the hearts of all Americans, attempting to brainwash folks into a state of rage  with the existing laws- which they do not understand- because no one is going to give a damn about accurate statistics. The media brain-washers will attempt, once again, to remove our 2nd Amendment rights. Which would equate to nonsense, equal to removing all vehicles because cars kill people.

Guns don't kill people- people kill people.

And in this case of the Florida murders- they KNEW he was a problem-due to his social media statements and photos. They did Nothing! So, on the flip side maybe we should we rid ourselves of the incompetents who are in place for our safety?

You Need to ASK yourself WHY? Why didn't they act?

It's not about gun "control" at all. But about controlling and manipuating every aspect of the American people - all the way down to our very faith, tuohghts and ideas.

That is very much what the Colonists fought and even sacrificed their very lives for against Great Britain's oppression and tyranny.

If I countdown from when General George Washington started his Presidency (1789), it only took 124 yrs before the US govt totally veered the nation away from the Constitution's original foundation w/ the ratification of the 16th and 17th Amendments. And the People had allowed it throughout the generations since.

Every Communist must grasp the truth: Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.

---Mao Zedong

This is why we have the 2nd Amendment. You can bet if I know this, the hard left knows it too. The first task of every successful dictator in history has been t disarm the general populace.

As a father and now grandfather, my heart is breaking for these children and their families. However, we can not sacrifice our rights for the illusion of security. The hard left disappeared into the shadows after they failed in the 60's now that they have political power they have reappeared. We know that they have been educating our children and attempting to rewrite history. The problem is mental health, but the left is already saying not to paint the mentally ill with that brush. They act in contradictory ways to control the situation and manipulate our emotions. Think with your head not your heart, situational awareness is the key. If they will not act, we must be vigilant and act for ours and our own's security. If you see or hear something say something, if they do nothing, beat the door down until they act.

Hugh Akston,

Hhmmm? You always say the right thing to make me think.

"How about a compromise; if the cops can have it I should be allowed it also." Ok, Yes, I agree!! I do agree with that statement.

I think folks will get whatever they want if they want it bad enough no matter.

I believe mental illness is the cause in many of these instances... hhhmmm..perhaps some blame  should go to these horrid "first person shooter" games that all these kids are addicted to.

I do believe that in the case of these kids killing kids, Parents, extended Family, Schools, Churches, and their peers need to be held to task.

Most mental illness in children identifies itself by Jr. High School. According to:

and in most cases it comes out that someone suspected something...

so good to have you here, you have been missed.

Some people with a class 3 license and a fee of $300 per year per weapon can obtain some fully automatic weapons including the belt fed M-60 light machine gun, a BAR(Browning automatic Rifle) or a flame thrower, I do know one guy with a soviet 40mm anti tank rifle at $60 a round he does not fire it much.

Drug dealers import many automatic guns, organized crime gangs have "Dealers" who rent out fully automatic weapons across the country for member gangs. if we can not stop organized criminals and illegal immigrants we can not stop the flow of illegal weapons.

One problem in Vietnam was small gun shops in the jungle building and modifying weapons for the VC. a fully automatic gun can be produced in a small metal shop, as found in most high schools, for under $100 in materials, some semi autos can be modified to fire fully auto, with training and special knowledge. The two most owned and modified guns are the AR-15 and the Rugger 10-22. the Rugger is easier to modify to a fully auto than the AR-15.

Although you could probably buy a fully automatic on the streets of Miami Cheeper and easier.

My thoughts? For defense against a tyrannical  government, if the military can have it, I should be allowed to have it also.

How about a compromise; if the cops can have it I should be allowed it also.

God Bless just my thoughts.

Starznbarz, I know I was opening a can of worms. You are correct about the weapons and I changed my post as well... Folks do not understand the difference...There are other weapons that can be manipulated to full auto- case in point- a Mac 10.

As you said

"Our Constitution is very clear - for a very good reason."

I do Agree with you 100% that we cannot open our Constitution to ANY CHANGE!   But this problem is not going to go away by itself and if we do not do something it will only continue..

In reality I believe it is a Mental Health problem, and ignorance.

An automatic weapon was not used in yesterdays murders. Automatic weapons must be reloaded exactly as a semi auto does, I do not believe an automatic weapon has EVER been used in a mass murder in America since the Capone days - that includes the Vegas murderer.

Automatic weapons are highly regulated, each weapon must be registered, a hefty fee paid and the registration must be with the weapon at all times.

A true automatic weapon, purchased legally starts at around $10,000 plus registration fees.

The flaw in your thoughts, as I see it, is that once ANY compromise is made on the second amendment, it will not be very long before the crack causes a crumble, the best example I know, is social security and obamacare, each was sold on lies designed to remove basic power from the people and give it to govt as a form of control. The ONLY reason we are free is because we are armed, if exceptions are allowed, it will be a very short time from no automatic weapons (why do you need them, answer - because the govt. has them) to nothing but shotguns based on the same line of reasoning, "why do you need..."

Our Constitution is very clear - for a very good reason.
